EEC has been organizing a Conference on "Water Optimisation in Thermal Power Plants", in coordination with CBIP
on 12th- 13th June, 2013 at New Delhi.The Conference aims to bring awareness on the current status of Water use
& optimization in the power plants, identify various drivers, policy guidelines & their Utilization for developing schemes
for its proper use. The conference also intends to provide a platform to present different water use & conservation
measures being taken by different utilities for water utilization and alternative technologies being developed for
reducing water consumptions.

Workshop Held in Bangalore:

EEC had organized a workshop in Bangalore on 5th January 2013 on "Performance Improvement through Excellence Enhancement Centre".

EEC had also organized two regional workshops one in Kolkata on 29th September 2012, the workshop is inaugurated by Shri Malay Kumar De, IAS , Principal Secretary, Department of Power &  Non-Conventional Energy Sources , Govt. of West Bengal .

Shri AS Bakshi, Chairperson, CEA & Shri R.N. Sen Chairman, also address the participants.

 

The workshop was attended by various organisations including state power utilities, NTPC, BHEL, Tata Power ( Maithon Power Ltd.), CESE WBPGCL, Dishergarh Power Supply Company Ltd. STEAG, EBTC, DVC, IPPs and manufacturers.

The workshop focus on the performance improvement and the presentation were made on the following topics,

On the 2nd of February EEC was inaugurated in New Delhi. With the presence of Shri K.C. VenugopalHon’ble Minister of State for Power, Shri P. Uma Shankar Secretary Power, Shri A.S. Bakshi, Chairperson CEA, his Excellency Cord Meier-Klodt acting Ambassador to Germany, Shri Jens Burgtorf Director GIZ Indo-German-Energy Programme and representatives of both the Governments, the EEC has been launched. Over 150 high ranking delegates from the private sector, representing over 50 companies and organizations attended the event.
